Satisfy your curiosity about Bali’s spiritualism with a visit to the one of Bali’s key temple, Pura Luhur Batukaru just out of Tabanan.
Located at the slope of Mount Batukaru, Wongaya Gede Village, Tabanan, this treasured temple is a place to worship God That Spawns. The temple is surrounded by cool natural forests, providing a pleasant stopover for nature lovers. As sacred site in Bali, Mount Batukaru has misty slopes from the heavily forested mountain which enhances its overall spiritual vibe.
At Pura Luhur Batukaru, there are two springs, first one is for cleaning body before praying and second is located inside the temple (jeroan) which used to ask holy water (tirtha) for ceremony or pray. A visit to the temple calls for proper attire and conduct. As with any Balinese temple visit, you must wear a sash around your waist, which is available for free at the security post before the temple entrance. Women during their periods are not allowed to enter the temple grounds.
Visiting Pura Luhur Batukaru is not even complete before stop by Jatiluwih, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that blessed with productive rice terraces. Jatiluwih’s higher elevation promises breathtaking scenery, cooler weather conditions and great photo opportunities. It is a place of natural beauty that has the ability to awaken the senses and revive depleted energy levels.
